WhatsApp banned in Brazil yet again. A Brazilian court has banned the chat service of WhatsApp leaving million of users without the service of the most popular chat service. The court took the drastic decision after WhatsApp refused to share details of chat related to a criminal case. WhatsApp claimed that the chat service is end to end encrypted and they don’t have the chats. The court has since then banned the service for WhatsApp.
This has created a huge uproar in international media. This is not the first time that WhatsApp has been banned in Brazil. The judge in Rio de Janeiro state of Brazil has ordered the suspension for indefinite time. The ruling pertaining to a confidential case has now left more than 100 million users without WhatsApp. Jan Koum, CEO and Co-Founder of WhatsApp has vented his frustration over the legal issues. Couple of months back, Brazil blocked WhatsApp.
Reactions against the WhatsApp Banned in Brazil
The Federal Supreme Court President of Brazil, Ricardo Lewandowski has termed the decision as “scarcely reasonable or proportional” reported Deccan Chronicle. Even the Attorney General Office of Brazil has said that the judges are misinterpreting the 2014 law for Internet Framework.
No word has been provided on the WhatsApp Banned in Brazil, but it is believed that the issue is not going to solve pretty soon. However, it may anger the people of Brazil for the same.
