On Virat Kohli Birthday, let’s talk about the records that the young man is already holding and these stats are absolutely fascinating. He came to the headlines when he led India to U 19 world cup in Malaysia.

Captain’s Knock

Virat Kohli became the first Captain to score three consecutive Hundreds. Kohli achieved this feat in Australia. He was captaining the side as MS Dhoni was injured. He scored 115 & 141 at Adelaide and then 140 at Sydney. He also became the first Indian Captain to score three centuries in Australia in a Test Series and third in the world.

Double Centuries

Virat Kohli is the only Indian Captain who has scored two double centuries in Test Cricket. He first scored his double hundred against West Indies and then against New Zealand. He scored 200 and 211 in those innings.

Lord of Centuries

In ODIs he is an even more dangerous player. He now has the second highest number of centuries for India after legendary Sachin Tendulkar. He has already scored 26 centuries and Sachin has 49. Only Ricky Ponting and Sanath Jayasuriya have more centuries apart from Sachin than Virat in the world.

Run Machine

He became the fastest cricketer to reach 7000 ODI runs in the history of cricket. He took only 161 innings to achieve the milestone. AB De Villars is second to him and he has done that in 166 innings whereas Sourav Ganguly holds the third position and achieved it in 174 innings.

IPL King

It is not only Test and ODIs; he is also a master in T20s. In 2016, during the IPL, Virat Kohli smashed 973 runs in a single edition and this is by far the highest by anyone in the IPL.

The Asian Herald team wishes him luck and more records on Virat Kohli Birthday.
