The story of Kader Khan is nothing less than a Bollywood movie. Do you want to know his ethnicity? Well, he was a Baloch and Pashtun. His maternal family was from Pishin, some km away from Quetta and his father was settled in Kabul.
The tremendous actor once said that he has no knowledge where and when he was born. Some said he was born in Quetta and some said Kabul. His parents had a difficult life and his elder brothers died at the age of 8. So, in 1939 (British India), the Baloch infant traveled across to Mumbai along with his parents. His parents hoped that the best way to save him was to leave where they lived.
They got settled in Mumbai in a slum and also a red light area. The story of Kader Khan took a tragic turn after they shifted to this place. He said that it was a filthy place and soon the relationship of his parents got worse and they divorced. His mother had to remarry and but insisted him to study to take her out of poverty. Kader Khan said that he was ready to work as a child labor but his mother stopped him. Kader Khan then studied Diploma in Engineering and was a teacher MH Saboo Siddik College. He did some theaters during this time and got in the eyes of Dilip Kumar who later introduced him to the movies.
The best part of the story of Kader Khan is that he started his filmy career in a Bengali film named Sagina Mahato, based in Siliguri in 1970. Since then he never looked back. A migrant Baloch who traveled across to Mumbai as an infant wrote his name in golden letters in Bollywood and Hindi Cinema.
