Payel Ghosh exposes the hypocrisy of Bollywood feminists who put t-shirts of Smash the Patriarchy. After actress Payel Ghosh accused Anurag Kashyap of sexual harassment, all the champions of women’s rights have suddenly changed their course. They have started blaming the victim.
Smash the patriarchy – until Anurag is accused?
Anurag Kashyap was one of the Bollywood feminists who joined the Smash the patriarchy movement. He did it for Rhea Chakraborty who is under arrest by NCB. However, he kept accusing Kangana Ranaut, and now blamed Payel Ghosh of lying.
His statement said,
All I want to say is that all the allegations against me are baseless. While accusing me, dragging my actors (Taapsee Pannu) and the Bachchan family is the next level. Whether it is my first or second wife, lover, actresses, my team, or even the people I have met in public or privately – I never behave in the way accused, nor endorse it.”
However, Tapsee Pannu jumped into the fray by supporting him, no one actually blamed her. Anurag even accused that one woman was lying and that lead to many are lying now. He was obviously indicating Kangana Ranaut and Payel Ghosh.
His lawyer also said that all the claims are dishonest and false. The Me Too movement has been co-opted by vested interests, read the statement.
Me Too is fine until Anurag is blamed.
Payel Ghosh put a tweet and slammed those Bollywood feminists who take pride in smashing the patriarchy by wearing t-shirts. The selective feminism and selective outrage of such people have caused more harm to the cause of feminism than anything else.
Here is what she said in Twitter,
It is not right to blame an accused until he or she is convicted. However, that is only valid for the men who are not friends to such feminists. People like Tapsse Pannu, Mahi Gill, former wife of Anurag, Kalki Kochien, women can be blamed and not trusted when the accused is known to them.
