Shashi Kapoor, the veteran Bollywood actor dies at the age of 79. He was admitted to the Kokilabean Hospital in Andheri on Sunday night. He reportedly suffered chest infection and left the mortal world today. The veteran of 116 Hindi Movies, Shashi Kapoor suffered from the same even in 2014, but this time he lost the battle to the death.
He was one of the major members of the Kapoor clan and son of Prithviraj Kapoor. His brothers were Shammi Kapoor and Raj Kapoor. He debuted with Dharmaputra movie in 1961 and then went on to work on many movies. He was one of the most successful actors during the 70s and 80s. The report of his death has been confirmed by his family and no more details have been revealed so far.
Shashi Kapoor received the award of Padma Vibhusan and Dada Saheb Phalke Award for his contribution towards India cinema. He is survived by his daughter Sanjana and sons Kunal and Karan.
Shashi Kapoor and his wife Jennifer Kendal established the Prithvi Theatre in Mumbai back in 1978. His wife died of cancer in 1984. He had acted in many famous movies in past like
Deewar, Trishul, and others. He and Amitabh Bachchan made a tremendous pair on screen during those days of Hindi Cinema.
His contribution towards the Hindi Cinema is immense and his demise would only be mortal for Bollywood. His legends, movies, and contribution would continue to be with the Hindi Movie Industry till the last day.
