Rustom Review – Rustom Pavri has finally hit the theater and the reactions have started coming from different sectors. Rustom has been in the news for a long time and Akshay Kumar left no stone unturned to make things work for him. But what about the story and the movie? Is it worth of all such hype?
Here is the detailed Rustom Review.
Akshay Kumar, Ileana D’Cruz, Esha Gupta
Tinu Suresh Desai
The story is circulated all over now and is known to most of the people. The movie is inspired by the famous 1959 Nanavati Case and it was all about narration and the performance for Rustom rather than the story. Never the less the movie has some twists and that can make the Rustom Review better after some time. (We don’t want to give our audience any Spoiler)
The first of the movie is truly engulfing but there was no charm. The movie was more focused to make Rustom Pavri, a hero and lost the essence of the plot. If the movie is compared with Airlift, then the difference can be clearly mentioned. The airlift was a movie that was driven by the script and everyone in the movie was important. However, Rustom leaves other non-significant. Esha Gupta who smokes large pipes tries all her efforts to be a bad girl. As Spot by suggested, is smoking only for bad women or men? Well, Rustom director thinks so. Ileana D’Cruz was little lost in the movie. However, it was all about Akshay Kumar. The second half, however, becomes boring and extremely dragging. The interest on the plot gets lost until the last twist surfaces.
As far as the performance is concerned, everyone was brilliant but the narration of the story and portraying it as 1959 was lacking to be precise.
The movie may have a bumper opening at the Box Office. However, in the longer run, it may lose out. But with the heavy promotion and the hype, that also looks unlikely. Mahenjodaro that is also releasing today has hardly got any support from the industry and may not do well against it as well.
