Russia knife attack has once again raised questions on Islamic terrorism. The attack took place in the Muslim majority region, Tatarstan of Russia. The 16-year-old attacker boy was armed with a knife and Molotov Cocktail. The attacker inflicted multiple stab injuries before he tried to set the police station on fire.
According to reports, the attacker called the police ‘infidel’ and said that he will kill every one of them. However, the Russian police shot him down. Local media has reported that his name was Vitaly Antopov.
The incident has been considered as an attempted terrorist activity and an investigation has been launched. The Russia Knife attack victim police officer has been taken to the hospital, however, he is said to be out of danger as of now. His condition however remains critical.
The police officers initially launched an attack on the fire before forced to inflict bullet injuries. The attacker died of the injuries before the medics arrived.
Antipove is from the Altai region of Siberia and worked at a local halal café named Barakat. Interestingly, the owner of the café, Marat Zamaleev, has previously served 14 years in prison for the illegal manufacture of weapons, Daily Mail reported.
