RIP Amma – J Jayalalithaa, CM of Tamil Nadu has passed away after a cardiac arrest. The cult leader and an icon for women empowerment, Amma breathed last at 11.30 PM on December 05 in Apollo Hospital, Chennai. Pannerselvam has been sworn in as the New CM of Tamil Nadu in Raj Bhavan after Jayalalithaa passed away.
J Jayalalithaa started her career as an actress and she was one of the most popular actresses in Tamil Cinema. She was also very close to the then Superstar MGR who became the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and formed AIDMK Party. J Jayalalithaa was very close to him and she succeeded her after the demise of the popular leader. As the RIP Amma tags and mentions are flooded on Social Media, it would be unfair to say, that she was one of the tallest figures in Indian Politics. She ran into troubles and even went to Jail but she became the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for six times. As Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, her demise has left a huge void in politics.
The city is under strict vigil and the Police are leaving no stone unturned to control law and order in Chennai and other parts of the Tamil Nadu. She was Amma to millions and was very popular figure and many believe that her demise could break many hearts. Seven days of State Mourning has been announced and the school and colleges will be closed for 3 days.
