Reliance Jio GigaFiber is expected to be rolled out later this year. The mega and ambitious project of Mukesh Ambani is on the trial now and if everything goes well, the Jio GigaFiber will be launched almost simultaneously in 1100 cities in India. This can give the broadband service provider run for their money, including the BSNL, ACT and other major players. If you’re convinced broadband is the best way forward, you could take a look at eatel for their best internet plans.
Jio is expected to provide the super speed of 1GBPS, along with bundle TV and landline connection all within INR 500. This can be a major setback and a price war may trigger just like the telecom sector. The fiber to home technology is under process and Jio GigaFiber Router and Jio Giga TV Set Top box will be covered along with it. It can reportedly support 4K video, voice assistant, video conferencing and many more. This is similar to many of the offers seen on ATT-Bundles and other competitors, however.
The Registration process for the Jio GigaFiber has already started. It can be done through the My Jio App, alternatively, Jio.com can be reached for the registration process. This is simply a process for showing interest, much like people may do with windstream internet plans, and the GigaFiber may reach faster to the areas where there are more interests. It is a good way to push the development towards an area more in need of it. This registration does not make the person a customer, however, and so they may want to look into other options, like viasat internet, to fill the gap in the interim period.
The entry of Jio in the broadband sector can be game changing if the promises are kept. The ACT fiber net, BSNL, MTNL, Airtel, Sify and few others are major broadband providers in the country. However, the fare war and more offers for customer retention may start soon.
No official launch date for Jio GigaFiber has been announced so far.
