Pope Francis makes breakthrough comments first time on history of Church and Papal Legacy. He became the first ever Pope to say that Christians own apologies to the gay people for discriminating them since long time. Pope was very clear on his stance and said that Church owes an apology to the homosexuals. However, he said that “Church means Christians; Church is Holy and We are Sinners”.
Pope Francis has said something that none from the papal legacy has ever said. He has also said that Christians offer apologies to the suppressed , women, children and all. His comments have been widely appreciated in the Christian society and has been regarded as the ground breaking. Pope also condemned the attack on the Gay Club in Orlando and termed it unfortunate.
He said that the gays have a condition and they seek God and “Who are we to judge them”? This is the first time Vatican has soften the stand against Homosexuals and this has been accredited as one of the path breaking moments in history.
CNN reported that Pope said “One can condemn, but not for theological reasons, but for reasons of political behavior…Certain manifestations are a bit too offensive for others, no?”
Church has historically condemned homosexuality and his comments has been treated as “immense blessing of healing”.
This is a welcome change for the conservative Roman Catholic society and people believe that in coming years, the stance against the homosexuals will gradually change.
