Pakistan Nervous on Balochistan
Strongly reacting to the ‘Balochistan’ comment of Narendra Modi, Pakistani diplomat Sartaj Aziz said that Balochistan is the internal matter of their country. As per the reports in Pakistani newspaper Dawn, the military and political establishment in Pakistan has called on all the exiled Baloch separatists to talk on the ongoing clashes in Balochistan. The report states that the Pakistani establishment is willing to resolve the matter with dialogues.
With the latest statement on Balochistan, Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has indicated a shift in Pakistan policy. The Prime Minister said that before talking about Indian Kashmir, Pakistan should be ready to talk about the issue of Pakistan occupied Kashmir and the atrocities in Balochistan.
In recent bomb blast in Quetta, Balochistan, more than 90 lawyers were killed. Most of the lawyers who lost their lives in the blast were protesting against Pakistani atrocities in Balochistan. Pakistani military chief Raheel Sharif claimed that Indian Research & Analysis Wing (RAW) was behind the attack. But the top Balochistan leaders claimed that Pakistani army deliberately bombed the hospital to target the Balochistan lawyers to crush the growing protest against Islamabad. There are questions that why Pakistan Nervous on Balochistan? Well, the answer may be seeded in 1971 when the atrocities and brutality of Pakistani Army were countered by the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
Rattled by the policy change of Indian Prime Minister, Pakistan said that India is trying to dilute the Kashmir issue by diverting the attention towards Balochistan.
