In recent months, the terror activities in Kashmir is rising. In recent by-poll elections, the state has seen the extremely low turnout and several cases of violence. Since last few weeks, many videos of security forces and Kashmiris have emerged which portrays the grim reality of Kashmir.
However, all these can be seen as a tactical shift in terror policies. Most of the incidents were fueled by separatists and militants in the area. It is now well-known fact that Pakistan has a prominent role to play in destabilizing Kashmir. On Sunday few videos emerged in which the residents of Kashmir were forced to chant anti-India slogan on gunpoint. The victim was when approached and asked about the incident, the victim said that few radical elements barged into the house and threatened to shoot if the victim refuses to chant anti-India slogan.
Since the death of Hizbul Mujahideen militant, Burhan Wani, the valley is boiling and the parts of South Kashmir has become one of the most volatile in terms of clashes. The Army is trying its level best to contain all these random protests but many young Kashmiri youths were hindering the combing operations and helping the terrorists to escape.
The situation in the valley if not controlled now, might go out of proportion. Due to increased causality of security forces in Kashmir, the central government is now also pondering over giving full rights to the army for using Armed Force Special Power Act.
Kashmir is boiling since July, 2016 as the Hurriyat Leadership has called for protest and strikes again and again.
