Mumbai v Hyderabad was supposed to be a thrilling match but it ended quite dull. It was a one-sided match as soon as Dhawan and Warner departed. Nobody could really understand what happened and Sunrisers were reduced to 158/8 in 20 overs from 105/1 in 13.1 overs.
Mumbai Indians, on the other hand, did not give any chance and took the match quite comfortably. However, there was a stage when bowlers gave the fight to defend this score. However, it was always difficult to defend a total like this in the Wankhede. But what went wrong for the Sunrisers in the MIvSRH match.
The dew factor was really key for the match. Bowlers were not able to grip the ball and often the full tosses were coming to the Mumbai Indians. They made full use of it. Even Rashid Khan who bowled sensationally well, slipped a couple of balls. That does not take any due credit from the Mumbai batsmen. Nitish Rana played very well and is coming out to be a Hero of this IPL 2017. Parthiv Patel made useful runs up in the order. It was Krunal Pandya who turned the match with his big hitting at the slog overs, however.
Hyderabad needs to regroup and rethink the strategy. Mustafizur was unable to control the ball and that should worry the Hyderabad captain Warner. This is however early in the tournament and there is enough time to come back strong.
