MIvRPS was once again a cracker of a match. The IPL2017 is finally getting interesting and eventful. The Wankhede Stadium has seen many run chases and defence of low totals. Mumbai Indians have mostly defended the low scores. However, the home team was at the receiving end this time.
Mumbai still seats at the top of the table with 6 straight wins. It lost the first match and then it lost against Pune. But why they lost the match? It looked certain that Mumbai would go home even this time around. However, things went in opposite direction at the last over. It was a lack of the application in the last few overs that cost the match for Mumbai. Ben Stokes was absolutely phenomenal with his spell that restricted Mumbai. However, their run rate became sluggish in the middle overs and it became too much for Rohit Sharma alone.
Mumbai Indians required 39 runs from the last 24 balls when Keiron Pollard got out. Hardik Pandya and Rohit Sharma were at the crease. It was a gettable score in T20 especially when you have two good batsmen at the crease. However, Mumbai scored mere 22 Runs in the next three overs. It left them with 17 runs to get from the last over. They fell short by 3 runs. MI lost three wickets in the last over and that showed how much panicked they were.
RPS has finally picked the momentum and is winning it for the team now. They are currently at the 4th position.
