MIvDD match sealed the fate for the Mumbai Indians in IPL 2017. Mumbai Indians become the first IPL team to qualify for the Playoffs in a grand style. Mumbai Indians defeated Delhi Daredevils by the margin of 147 runs to seal the spot. Mumbai scored a huge 212 runs in their 20 overs and Delhi Daredevils were bundled out for 66.
Delhi chased down 209 runs in the last match but looked totally out of sync today and lost all wickets for mere 66 runs. This is the largest defeat in IPL history in terms of margin of runs. Mumbai Indians made use of the pitch and got off to flying start thanks to Lendl Simmons and Parthiv Patel. Keiron Pollard and Hardik Pandya made the rest and toiled Delhi all over the field.
Delhi Daredevils, however, looked confused and went for the kill from the first ball but lost the key wicket of Sanju Samson on the very first ball. There was series of wickets for the Delhi team and could not really recover the early blows from Mumbai. The deadly bowling of Mumbai paralyzed Delhi batsmen. They are now quite out of playoffs. However, Delhi Daredevils can still qualify provided some other team play for their fortune after MIvDD match.
In the other match of the day, SRHvRPS, RPS hold the nerve defeated Hyderabad. This has made the Playoff equation even more interesting. Pune is now closer to make it to playoffs and is the second number in the table. However, Hyderabad still has to work hard. The IPL 2017 table is wide open.
