MFF Bail fund was promoted by Kamala Harris helping many. One of them is a man who sexually assaulted an eight-year-old girl. The court document was reviewed by the Daily Caller News Foundation.
The Minnesota Freedom Fund (MFF Bail Fund) also helped a man get his bail who is accused of assaulting a 71-year-old woman when he burglarized her home. The man violated his bail terms just a week after. The same man has an active felony warrant against him as per the Hennepin County Sheriff.
The same fund also supported a man who robbed a victim on the streets of Minneapolis the same day when George Floyd died.
On June 1, Kamala Harris tweeted and asked her followers to donate to the bail fund. She gave the link to the fundraising page with her picture and her former presidential campaign slogan.
The MFF raised around $35mn. It has spent around 6% to help bail out people facing protest-related charges.
Timothy Wayne Columbus, 36, faces up to 30 years in prison for allegedly assaulting sexually an eight-year-old girl. He was released on $75000 bail. A day after Columbus signed a document asking the court to return any refunded bail to MFF.
Columbus assaulted the child who was known to him. He threatened her not to tell anyone and the child kept mum for a long time. In a separate case, he was registered as a predatory sex offender.
Richard Raynell Kelley, 53, faces 20 years in jail for assaulting the 71-year-old woman and burglarizing her home.
Besides, Deshaun Jermain Boyd, 33, also was released on bail for robbing a victim on the street for $70000 by MFF.
