Mandsaur Rape Case that shocked the nation has been concluded in the session court under POSCO act. The two accused Asif and Irfan have been awarded death penalty for the rape and attempted murder of a minor. The Special Judge Nisha Gupta announced the verdict under the 376 AB and 376 D section of Indian Penal Code. The death penalty was awarded as the victim was less than 12 years old.
The prosecution had solid evidence against the accused and there was hardly any escape for them. First they were caught in CCTV camera along with the girl. The DNA found in the vaginal swab of the girl matched with the DNA of both the accused. The pubic hair of the both the accused were also found from the crime spot. The most important evidence was the blood of the victim that was found in the clothes of both the accused, Times of India reported.
The girl was lured by Asif and Irfan when she was waiting for her father outside her school. She was then taken to an isolated place and then raped by both of them. The accused tried to kill her by slitting her throat, but she survived. She was also one among the witnesses and her statement gave a huge boost to the case.
This is the sixth death penalty in Madhya Pradesh after the ordinance was passed for the same for rape of a minor aged below 12 years.
