Manbij is considered as one of the key places in the route to Raqqa that is the de facto capital of the Islamic State. Manbij was initially captured by the SDF forces but the Syrian Observatory for the Human Rights reported that close to a dozen of ISIS fighters still there in the town and it cannot be said that Manjib is free from ISIS. However, soon around 500 cars were seen carrying the ISIS fighters and civilians towards the Turkish Border. The civilians were reportedly used for the human shields but they were rescued at the last push by the SDF forces.

Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also claimed that the US Airstrikes during the Manjib operation has claimed 60 civilians. Washington has started probing it but no result has come out of it so far. However, the celebrations of the people to welcome the SDF in Manjib are priceless.
