Kim Jong Un executes five government officials reportedly after they spoke against the regime. The Supreme leader of North Korea also made a rare public appearance after that.
He also visited Unpha County to check the reconstruction work at the flood-hit area. Hwanghae province of North Korea, where Unpha is located is one of the most affected areas. Series of typhoons and monsoons have hit North Korea badly in recent times.
According to KCNA, Kim Jong Un said,
“has faced trouble and distress at the great damage caused by the recent series of heavy rain and typhoons,”
He however expressed his happiness at the reconstruction work. The premier of the communist country has reportedly told party loyalists that the economic policies have to be rediscussed due to the challenges.

Five Economic Ministry employees were reportedly executed on July 30. The conversations of them emerged in a dinner party where they spoke against the economic policies of the regime. The men reportedly discussed industrial reform to produce more consumer goods. They reportedly spoke about the need for foreign corporations to help to revitalize the economy already battling the sanctions. The reports said the concerned employees were talking about quick actions.
However, after the details emerged, they were called for a meeting. The officials were arrested by the secret police and were forced to confess undermining the regime.
North Korea executes anyone who shows dissent against the regime. The country has also reportedly ordered shot to kill to contain coronavirus.
