INDvWI Highlights

India made a solid platform by scoring huge runs on the scoreboard. Virat Kohli led from the front and scored his first double century. On the other hand, he was equally supported by R Ashwin and Shikhar Dhawan. Ashwin scored his 3rd Test Century and Dhawan missed out a Ton, by 14 runs. A pitch that looked flat and ordinary became dangerous with Indian bowlers used it very well. It took some 5 sessions to bowl out West Indies two times for India. Even though there were some contributions from the West Indies team, but the lack of character and patience cost the wickets at regular intervals.

This match was extremely important for the young Indian team which is going through a transition under a new captain and a new coach. The performance of R Ashwin and Shami were really applaudable. There is no doubt the captain made everyone comfortable as well. India meets West Indies in Jamaica for the second test and India would enjoy the edge over the host.
