Havelock Island, one of the prime tourist spots in Andaman and Nicobar Islands is experiencing hard time. Almost 800 people mostly tourists are trapped as heavy rain and rough sea have cut off the link.
The civil transportation has failed to make arrangements for the tourists. The Indian Navy confirmed that they have been asked for help and three Navy Ships are ready for help. However, the rough sea is stopping them to start the evacuation operations immediately. The bad weather is not going to give any relief any time soon but the Navy Ships are said to be ready. The trapped tourists are reportedly going out of cash. However, understanding the circumstances the airlines have started waiving off the penalty charges for cancelling and rescheduling the flights. As per the ANI reports, Bitra, Bangaram, Kumbhir and LUC 38 Navy Ships are ready to evacuate.
Havelock Island is known for beautiful beaches and many thousands people visit Andaman and Nicobar islands every year. The Islands have popular water sports and other historical attractions as well. Army, Navy and Airforce have permanent bases in the islands. The island is also famous for the beautiful Corals found . There are many ancient tribes in the islands as well.
During Tsunami, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands faced major wrath of the nature and many beaches were destroyed.
