Rocky Yadav, the main accused who shot and killed Aditya Sachdeva in a road rage incident in Gaya, Bihar, has been convicted by the District Court. The court held Rocky and three of his friends of murdering Aditya Sachdeva, a Class XI student by pumping bullets on his chest. The quantum of sentence to be announced on September 6, confirmed the court.
Rocky Yadav is the son of expelled JDU leader Manorama Devi and tainted Businessman Binny Yadav. In a road rage incident, Rocky and his friends killed Aditya after they did not get enough space to overtake him. He fled the situation and was hiding in a factory owned by his father Binny Yadav. Police later caught hold of him and he was presented to the court. His parents were also charged with helping him to hide and for destroying evidence.
Rocky Yadav, hailed from an influential and powerful background managed to get a bail from Patna High Court. However, Supreme Court of India made the bail void soon after. He has been refused with the bail by the Top Court.
This is another win for the Judiciary for India. The fantastic August month for the Indian Judiciary is continuing after Triple Talaq was suspended and Ram Rahim was sentenced. The sentence of Rocky Yadav will be a boost for the Indian Judiciary that has been misused by many tainted leaders in past.
It looks obvious that the lawyers of Rocky Yadav would go to the higher court after the sentence is spelled out by the court on September 6. However, the first battle has been won by the family of Aditya Sachdeva. They might not get their son back but seeing his son behind the bars can give them some relief.
