Iceland defeats England

The strong England team tasted defeat in ENGISL match as the minnows Iceland crushed them for the 2-1 defeat in Round of 16. England looked clueless as they were handed the defeat. All the three goals of the match were scored in the first 18 minutes and then England could hardly do anything about it.

Within the first 4 minutes, England looked rock solid and they got the opportunity in the form of a penalty. Rooney did not make any mistake to put that behind the net and England was 1-0 up. Hardly anybody would have thought that Iceland would do a counter attack right after the goal and score the equalizer within a couple of minutes. R. Sigurdsson worked out a long pass to beat the English defense and scored the goal. England was under immense pressure. Sigthórsson came into action just after 12 minutes and scored another goal for Iceland. It was amazing scenes in Stade de Nice. England kept on missing targets and Iceland looked determined to create the history. They knew they have the chance of qualifying for the Quarterfinals and they did not look behind. England could not manage to score again and Iceland created the history in the biggest ever match. The final score line said 2-1 for Iceland. They will now face mighty France, the host in the Quarterfinals.
