Diego Maradona has passed away, and the world is mourning. But Argentina does not look at it as just a natural death. The prosecutors believe there is more to it and the investigation has already begun.
The officials have already seized medical files from his personal doctor, Leopoldo Luque, as part of the investigation.
The prosecutor requested a search order and was signed by a local court.
In a statement, the prosecutor said,
“Yesterday (Saturday) the investigation and substantiation of evidence continued with the taking of statements from people including direct relatives of the deceased. By virtue of the evidence that was collected, it was considered necessary to request searches at the home and office of doctor Leopoldo Luque.”
Luque confirmed the local news that clinical files were taken. He insisted that there was no clinical error and he is in no way responsible for the death of the star.
Matias Moria, the lawyer of Diego Maradona, however, pointed out a few more things. He said that a slow response by the emergency service was criminal idiocy. According to Reuters, he said, that the ambulance service took more than half an hour to arrive.
Maradona, passed away after he suffered a heart attack at the age of 60. He had years of substance misuse and nearly died 20 years ago due to it.
The champion football player is worshipped in Argentina and elsewhere in the world. The world is still mourning his death.
