DC vs KXIP IPL 2020 – Delhi Capitals played their first match against Kings XI Punjab. The match was played in Dubai. The thriller of IPL 2020 continues in the second match as well.
Punjab held the nerve to take it to the last ball, but could not finish it. Punjab needed 1 run from 3 balls. Agarwal got out for the glory shot. It was the Stoinis again.
Rabada did the rest as Delhi Capitals won the match in Superover.
KXIP won the toss and elected to field first, an obvious choice these days in T20 cricket.
Delhi started jitters. Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw got out cheaply. Simon Hetmyer did not last long as well. However, Shreyas Iyer and Risabh Pant settled things in the middle. However, the course of the match was changed by Marcus Stoinis. His quickfire fifty ensured that Delhi reaches close to 160 marks. Iyer played his part as well. He hit a few big sixes. Mohammed Shami was the star bowler and picked up 3 crucial wickets.
KXIP made a mess of the chase at the beginning. R Ashwin, who captained Punjab last season, rattled them by picking two wickets in one over. However, he got injured and could not bowl more overs. It cost Delhi the match. Mayank Agarwal held the key for the chase and he took it deep to the last over.
It was all down to Rabada. Iyer missed an important catch of Mayank Agarwal on the penultimate over.
It was Superover and Rabada show. Rabada took Rahul and Pooran in 2 balls to rap up Kings XI Punjab innings in 3 balls. DC needed only 3 runs and it took only 2 balls to win.
