China on Kashmir – After Pakistan, Now China is poking India on Kashmir Issue. On Tuesday, China issued a statement claiming that they are worried about the current situation in India-held Kashmir and are hopeful that the Indian authorities will properly handle the issue. China also pressed that both India and Pakistan should try to solve the dispute through dialogue keeping the aspirations of Kashmiri people in mind.

On Tuesday, Lu Kang Chinese foreign ministry spokesman said that China is concerned about the deteriorating situation in the valley and are worried about the loss of lives in Kashmir. Kang further mentioned that since the rise of this dispute China has always maintained a stance that both the parties should work enough to resolve the issue amicably.
For New Delhi, the comment from China on Kashmir issue came as a surprise as China keeps a distance from commenting over India’s internal matter. China’s comment on Kashmir is seen as the result of increasing alliance between China and Pakistan. on the other hand, China is also miffed with Indo-US stance on South China Sea dispute.
The tension is the valley escalated since the killing of Hizbul militant Burhan Wani. Post the death of Wani, the valley erupted with protest. So far 42 people lost their lives in clashes with Indian Army. Amid the tension, the government has restricted the internet and telephonic services.
