CBI for SSR was trending since the unfortunate death of the Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput. However, it did not come so easily. The Apex Court today ordered that an ‘impartial probe is the need of the hour’ and ordered the CBI to probe the case. The Supreme Court ordered the Mumbai Police to hand over all the investigation report gathered during the course to the CBI.
This has been seen as a setback for Uddhav Thackrey led Maharashtra Government. The Maha government has been opposing the CBI investigation into the case. Sanjay Raut, the Shiv Sena leader has even accused the family of Sushant Singh Rajput. One of the accused and girlfriend of Sushant Singh Rajput, Rhea Chakraborty also received the setback. She initially pleaded the central government for the CBI inquiry. However, once her name cropped up, she took a u-turn and even challenged the decision of the Bihar Government for CBI in the supreme court.
The decision came after the father of Sushant Singh Rajput filed an FIR in Patna and demanded an impartial probe. After Bihar police were stopped by the Mumbai counterparts for the investigation, the Bihar government ordered CBI investigation. Rhea Chakraborty in her appeal termed this as invalid and illegal. However, the Apex Court now termed it legal FIR and ordered CBI to investigate.
The country has seen a huge outrage after the death of the actor. The CBI for SSR is a trend even after months of the unfortunate incident. ED is already investigating the money laundering aspect of the case. Rhea Chakraborty and her brother have been summoned by the central agency before in this case.
Many celebs who were fighting for this case have termed this win for CBI for SSR warriors.
