Breonna Taylor death case finally comes to a judicial conclusion. Grand Jury has indicted one police officer of criminal charges for shooting her at her residence. The Jefferson County Grand Jury charged former Louisville police officer Brett Hankison with three counts of wanton endangerment of the first degree.
Hankison was one of the three officers involved in the killing of Breonna Taylor in Louisville. Brett Hankison was earlier terminated from his service with immediate effect three post-Breonna Taylor death.
The Police Chief Robert Schroeder stated then that his behavior shows extreme indifference to the value of human life.
Breonna Taylor was shot multiple times by three officers in her home. Three officers burst into her home during a narcotics investigation and fired shots at her. Later, no drug was found at her home.
People in Kentucky and Louisville started a massive protest against her killing.
Previously, the Louisville City provided $12mn as compensation to the family of Breonna Taylor for wrongful death. Her mother said at that time that the police should be criminally charged for killing her.
The grand jury today announced the verdict in much anticipation of the people. People across the country are expected to celebrate this. They have demanded criminal proceedings against the police officers involved in the Breonna Taylor death.
