Anil Parihar and his brother Ajit Parihar, BJP Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir have been shot by unidentified attackers.
Both of them were rushed to hospital where they were succumbed to their bullet injuries. The incident took place around 8 PM in Kishtwar district of Jammu. BJP State President Ravinder Rana has confirmed the news. The MoS Jeetendra Singh has also expressed his grief.
It is suspected as a militant attack. Anil Parihar was a leader of big stature in the State. Militants have often targeted the politicians of the state, irrespective of the political parties. There have been many attacks on many leaders in past few months.
Jammu and Kashmir State General Secretary has claimed that the horrible incident has been carried out by the terrorists. However, Kishtwar SSP Ravinder Gupta said that the investigation is still on. Army and Police have formed a joint team and started massive search operation soon after the incident. Many BJP supporters have come to the roads to protest against the killing of their leaders. The administration is keeping a close eye on the situation. So far, no arrest has been made.
The situation in valley remain tensed as the security forces engage with the Pakistan backed terrorists. The militants target the leaders to attack the Constitution and the basic pillar of democracy.
Former CM Omar Abdullah has expressed his shock and grief over this unfortunate incident. Jeetendra Singh has quoted that he is rushing to Kishtwar after this incident.
J&K is presently under the Governor rule.
