Babri Masjid was demolished by the Kar Sevaks in 1992 in Ayodha. The land was a matter of dispute for the Hindus and Muslims since British India. Hindus claim that Ayodhya was the birthplace of Lord Rama and the Babri Masjid was built in the Mughal era by demolishing the Ram Temple. Archaeological experts have found traces of building beneath the disputed land that does not resemble Islamic architecture as well.

Old scriptures and epics from ancient time till date, mention Ayodhya as the birthplace of Lord Rama. In fact, the name of Ayodhya is constant since ancient times.
