Assistant teacher sexually assaulted a kid with emotional difficulties. Allyssa Gustafson used to work in Circle Academy for kids with behavioral and emotional difficulties. The school is in Urbana, Illinois. In the court, she admitted the charges of engaging in multiple sex acts with a 14-year-old boy and sending him inappropriate photos.

She has pleaded guilty to a single count of aggravated sexual abuse. However, a more serious count of the criminal sexual count was dismissed by the Assistant State’s Attorney Kristin Alferink. The 24-year-old is to be sentenced on October 30 by Judge Roger Webber.
Alferink has confirmed that she would seek prison terms for Gustafson and community sentences.
However, the mother of the assaulted teen boy is not satisfied. She wants harsher punishment for her. Her mother told that the assault was for numerous times. There were numerous messages and conversations. She said that her underage son was exploited by the teacher and deserves much harsher punishment.
As per the Sun, she said,
“I never thought for once someone would have the audacity and the nerve to walk past me on my way out the door, knowing what her intentions were with my underage son.”
The school has also released a statement and said that they work towards the well-being and safety of the students. The school said that they strive to provide an environment conducive to learning.
The statement further said,
“As with all new hires, we conduct extensive background checks on our employees and have verified that all appropriate checks were completed in this case.”
