BCCI has announced that Anil Kumble has been appointed as India Head Coach for one year contract. The statement says that the legendary bowler has been appointed coach and his term would start from the upcoming West Indies tour of India. It was speculated that the former India Captain will be handed over the job considering his experience and temperament.

His position came as surprise for many due to his lack of experience in coaching. He was one among the 57 candidates applied for the head coach. He was interviewed by his former teammates Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman on Tuesday in Kolkata.




However, the 18 years experience of Anil Kumble might have worked for him. He was appointed as Indian Captain in 2007. He is also the highest wicket taker of India. He also has the world record of taking 10 wickets in an innigs.

Anil Kumble is one of the best cricketers of India and his appointment as India Head Coach can be great for the Indian National Team. He would coach team for next West Indies Series.
